About Alexandra Headland

Alexandra Headland is a unique triangular coastal village situated on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Nestled between Maroochydore and Mooloolaba, its main attraction is a magnificent 1.8 km coastal frontage of superb surf breaks and a patrolled swimming beach. This is complemented by a rocky headland, and various walks and parks.

Colloquially known as Alex Heads (there is actually only one headland), it's better known to locals as simply “Alex”.

One corner of the triangle climbs towards Cathedral Hill, providing magnificent views to the north for residents, yet all within walking distance of the beach.

The 2021 Australian Census revealed that 4,235 people were registered in Alexandra Headland, with people in their 20’s and 50’s being the most populous demographics.
